When projects reach a complexity that require another layer in organizing the their files subfolders with dates are a good solution. The sequence should be year-month-day to ensure the folders will be ordered correctly by the Mac OS Finder.

Wether you work by yourself or in a team, staying on top of your hard drive's directory structure will help you keep the workflow transparent and prevent you from losing files or just generally creating a mess.
